Odeon Cinemas, Republic of Ireland

Odeon Cinemas introduced a new gaming service to their customers giving everyone the exciting opportunity to play their favourite games on the big screen! 

Simpli-Fi worked with Odeon to install a new gaming network for all Odeon cinema sites across the Republic of Ireland. 

The project had a very tight turnaround to meet the gaming launch date. This required teams to work around the clock for six weeks to install the new networks across each screen within the 15 sites in ROI. 

Solution 

Simpli-Fi installed a new Cat 6 network into each cinema screen projection room back to the main IT comms room at each site. Every cinema screen required a dual Cat 6 outlet in order to provide a backup link to the server.

The gaming network needed to be completely independent of the Odeon corporate IT network, so a new Cisco gaming switch and core router must be installed at each site to control the gaming servers for each screen. 

Once the new network was installed, the Simpli-Fi team would plug the gaming server into the projection system and test to make sure the gaming server came online.
