We have worked in partnership with the Lion Academy Trust for over 10 years now, providing our managed WiFi service. The Trust incorporates multiple schools requiring varying solutions depending on their size.
There is a heavy focus on mobile devices and so reliable WiFi is key, with differing numbers of devices needing to be supported across the schools, from 100-1,000.
Our managed service means the Trust has unlimited onsite support, remote helpdesk, next day hardware swap out in the event of any failures. It also offers wireless coverage guarantees for each school, whereby we guarantee zones for concurrent devices logging on so they don’t have to worry about weak coverage areas. This is all bundled up into affordable annual payments, providing the Trust with guaranteed performance, and headache-free WiFi as a service.
In terms of the finer details, the Trust has a Ruckus wireless network throughout the 10 sites, consisting of a cloud Ruckus virtual controller, hosted on AWS with a backup instance for automatic failover to mitigate the risk of any downtime on the wireless network across the Trust.
The network is made up of 162 Ruckus R510 AC Wave 2 access points with HP Aruba gigabit POE switching throughout. Providing standardisation throughout the Lion Academy Trust schools was key.
We deploy an extensive IT solution across all our schools, with a heavy focus on mobile devices and highly resilient, high bandwidth wi-fi as core to our pedagogical delivery and our successful outcomes. Simpli-Fi has made the process of installing, monitoring, troubleshooting and updating this core infrastructure straightforward and affordable, and the combination of knowledgeable, helpful staff and a keen focus on our needs as their customer is greatly welcomed. Given the priority we place on high availability connectivity, the Simpli-Fi service and team continue to provide critical support for our schools.
