Project Overview
AIG’s European HQ, situated in the heart of London’s financial district, is a modern office space designed to support a large corporate team with high expectations for seamless communication. Like many central London buildings, the HQ suffered from poor indoor mobile reception due to signal congestion and building materials that impede mobile signals.
Challenges
The key challenge was the building’s central location, where mobile signals are often overwhelmed by network congestion. The building’s design, incorporating modern materials and energy-efficient glazing, further blocked mobile signal penetration. It was essential to provide full multi-network coverage throughout the office, without compromising the building’s professional aesthetics or disrupting day-to-day operations during installation.
Solution
Simpli-Fi implemented a bespoke in-building mobile signal enhancement solution. Directional high-gain antennas were installed discreetly to pull in the best possible donor signal from outside. This signal was then distributed using the Nextivity Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 system, a smart active DAS hybrid solution supporting multiple networks simultaneously.
The installation was completed with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the solution was virtually invisible within the workspace while maximizing signal coverage across all office areas.
Results
The project resulted in outstanding mobile coverage across AIG’s London headquarters. Employees and visitors now enjoy consistent, high-quality voice and data service across all networks, significantly improving workplace efficiency and user satisfaction. AIG has since entered into a managed service agreement with Simpli-Fi to ensure the system continues to operate at peak performance.
